M.Sc., CCC-SLP(C), Reg. CASLPO

If there was one word to describe Elli, it would be "go-getter"!

Elli Dimas, founder of Experience Speech, is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who started her practice in New York, NY and moved it all the way to Ontario in the Spring of 2018.

As a wife, mother of two young children, and a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), she just keeps on going. In her spare time, she can be found running, playing tennis, relaxing with her family or working on her next project. In her work as an SLP, she strives to be an ally and advocate for all her clients, just as she does for her own family.

Elli has experience working with diverse clients and believes in child-led therapy that focuses on a child's strengths, with input from the whole family. She knows...it takes a village! Her suggestions always include understanding the clients' and families' perspective, especially when planning for speech and language support that makes communication meaningful and memorable.

It helps that Elli is also trained in the following specific treatment approaches:

  • It Takes Two to Talk (certified with Hanen)

    • A parent-coaching program that shows parents how to use natural, day-to-day life to help their child develop language skills

  • More Than Words (certified with Hanen)

    • A family-focused intervention program that aims to empower parents to support their child’s social communication development and maximize their child's opportunities to develop social communication skills in the context of everyday situations and routines.

  • Natural Language Acquisition

    • A framework to guide children who are gestalt language processors through the levels of language development - moving from echolalia to spontaneously generated language

    • Elli's profile can be found on the Meaningful Speech Registry

  • The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® (LiPS®)

    • A program to develop phonemic awareness, reading, spelling, and speech. Children discover the physical characteristics of each phoneme and use this kinesthetic feedback to verify sounds within words.
